I don't believe I've ever heard the phrase "fuckin' rad" applied to Fritz Lang's Metropolis until Leland described it such in this episode, but yes, I agree that there are many silent films on Netflix Instant worth checking out. I also intend to see The Artist as soon as it becomes available here, and your review makes me want to see it all the more. I'm happy to hear you guys back together again.

So, Melancholia. Holy. Shit.

I equal parts love this movie and am also mixed with it as well. The opening 5 minutes: Some of the best filmmaking of the entire year. Absolutely wonderful. Then Part 1 comes in, and the wedding lasts waaayy too long and Kirsten Dunst comes across as a bit too unlikable.

Then Part 2 comes in, and I ate everything up. It was so good, so emotional, but also so depressing and exhausting to watch. I pretty much agree with most of what you guys said.

I'm actually seeing Melancholia tomorrow so I'll report back on that when I have the chance.

I think the only movies that I also saw in this podcast were Tower Heist, Attack the Block, and Submarine. So...

Submarine: I actually liked it. It is totally a Wes Anderson clone, but I thought it was charming enough to allow myself to enjoy it. The main kid, Craig Roberts, was really good.

Attack The Block: I liked it, but I wasn't as enamored with it as everyone else was. I did love the main character, Moses, though. He was a total badass.

Tower Heist: It was so god damn boring. Not really much to add.

I look forward to hearing what Leland thinks of Martha Marcy May Marlene. It's a totally fantastic movie, and I'm positive he'll dig it a lot.

I don't know, I think its an interesting film that has ideas but doesn't quite pull through in the end with all of those ideas. I would of preffered the movie to hit a transcending ending and go with the apocalypitc ending rather then the ending it cops out for.

But still, there were things I liked about it and those things were enough to make me pleased and give it an average rating.
